never heard it called that. The reason for the break in traction is because the drop into a lower gear will immediately decelerate the rotation of the rear wheels once the clutch is dropped and the tire's grip cant hold the force of the driveline's resistance since the engine RPMs are too low for that speed. Once the force yanks the engine into a higher RPM range, the tires usually regain traction and engine deceleration/braking takes place.
